A training session for anyone who would like to help with bat rehabilitation in Berkshire, starting with collecting injured, grounded or orphaned bats from members of the public to bring them to a rehabber in Newbury/Thatcham, Reading or Ascot/Windsor.

The session will include how the bat care network operates, nationally & locally, and how drivers fit in, a bit about how bats get in to difficulties and some bat ecology & behaviour (so you can answer questions from the finders). There won’t be any handling or bat care training and we don’t require you to be rabies vaccinated at this stage.

The two sessions, on Saturday 2nd and Saturday 9th March are the same. They may be preceded by a get-together for existing rehabbers, drivers and fosterers.

The session is free of charge to B&SBBG members, £5 for non-members, payable in advance. If you’d like to attend, please email BatRescueBerks (at) outlook.com
