Want to do bat surveys or learn more about bat echolocation?

Join us for a training session on the National Bat Monitoring Programme where Philip Briggs from BCT will deliver the “Using Your Ears” introductory bat detector workshop. This is aimed particularly at anyone considering taking part in the Field or Waterway surveys hoping to gain more confidence using a heterodyne detector and will consist of a classroom session followed by practical fieldwork. Bring your own detector if you have one but there will be detectors available to borrow for the evening.

We will also include a section on the Roost Count survey in June as we’re planning to revisit some of the sites where we rescued baby bats last season. There may be a chance to count bats out of a bat roost on campus.

Please let us know if you’re coming at info@berksbats.org.uk so we can make sure there are enough knowledgable volunteers to help with the practical session! Also there is a limit to the number of people we can fit in the room.
